Since the old days. Still the best.
Our Story
Tucked beneath a Housing Board block on North Bridge Road, Heap Seng Leong is one of Singapore's last true old-school kopitiams — a place where time moves slowly and the kopi still arrives in a thick ceramic cup. Plastic stools, an open kitchen, a simple menu, and servers who have been here for decades.
"One of the last few places still doing it the classic way." The charcoal-grilled toast arrives blistered and smoky, the kaya is housemade, and the soft-boiled eggs are just so. Nothing has changed. Nothing needs to.
Featured by food lovers the world over and recognised by the Michelin Guide in 2025 for its fish paste noodles — a bowl that has earned its devotees one quiet morning at a time.
